Spring 2025 Cleanse
April 21 - 27
According to Ayurveda, the Spring and the Fall are the best time of year to do a cleanse, as they are a time of transition.
As we focus on the spring (Kapha season) you may notice you’re feeling at your most sluggish and your body is yearning for that movement. In the winter, your metabolism is actually at its highest because your Agni (digestive fire) moves into the center of your body, which is why your extremities get colder during this season and we tend to eat heavier. Through the spring, that fire moves throughout your body and in the summer time it is full force! Agni is heating up your entire body and we crave less and lighter food in the summer.
In the spring, because we’re at peak sluggishness, we need some spices and cleansing to help that Agni move about. We’ve got to ignight it a bit!
80% of our daily expenditure goes towards digesting our food. So if we eat more simple and easy to digest foods, our body can focus less on assimilating food and more towards healing and cleansing. To do this, we use a technique called mono-mealing.
An Ayurvedic kitchari cleanse is a nourishing, gentle detox that offers your body a chance to reset, replenish, and revitalize. Kitchari, made from a balanced mix of rice, lentils, ghee and spices like turmeric, cumin, and coriander, is the perfect food for supporting your digestion and eliminating toxins.
Here's why kitchari is a great choice:
It’s a Gentle Detox: Unlike harsh cleanses that can leave you feeling depleted and hungry, the kitchari cleanse is soothing on the digestive system. The combination of easily digestible ingredients supports your body's natural detox processes without overwhelming it. And although kitchari is (basically) all we’re eating (mono-mealing) you can have as much of it as you like!
It Balances the Doshas: Ayurvedic principles suggest that the kitchari cleanse helps to balance all three doshas (Vata, Pitta, and Kapha). It's an ideal way to reset your system, as it calms inflammation, promotes digestion, and revitalizes energy.
Improves Digestion: The spices used in kitchari are not only flavorful but work wonders on your digestive fire (Agni), helping to improve metabolism, reduce bloating, and enhance nutrient absorption.
Sustained Energy: Unlike juice cleanses that can leave you feeling tired and hungry (we will incorporate juicing in our cleanse but it is not the focus), kitchari provides clean, sustainable energy through its combination of carbs, proteins, and healthy fats.
Mental Clarity: As your digestive system rests and resets, you may notice greater mental clarity and reduced brain fog. This cleanse helps to calm the mind, allowing you to feel more focused and centered.
Easy to Follow: The cleanse is simple and can be adjusted to fit your lifestyle.
Whether you're looking for a 3-day, 7-day, or longer cleanse, it's easy to follow with minimal effort. Plus, kitchari is delicious, satisfying and filling.
If you're looking for a holistic, easy-to-implement cleanse that leaves you feeling energized, clear, and rejuvenated, this Ayurvedic kitchari cleanse is exactly what you need. It's not just about cleansing-it's about nourishing your body and soul!
